Tenaska Clear Creek Energy Center hopes to finish turbine installation by end of year

The Tenaska Clear Creek Energy Center located north of Maryville is making progress on the installation of 111 wind turbines.

Project Manager, Ryan Choquette, says that their goal is to have a majority of the turbines installed by the end of the year.

"By mid December we should be through with all the delivery of the turbines.  We will have restoration work.  It'll be weather dependent.  Next spring we'll be finishing up the restoration work.  Our goal also is to start doing test generation with the turbines in the coming weeks."

Choquette does ask the public to be cautious with workers during the Hunting and Harvest season.

"With the deer season and harvest going on, we do want to have everybody aware of the extra workers that are around the area.  We have briefed the workers to be cautious of hunters and traffic.  But we ask for everybody's patience as we finish up this project."

Choquette adds that the construction work has hired 50 craft workers from the local area and $30 million in contracts have been awarded to area businesses.
